Varen Technologies is looking for Software Engineers in support of our prime contract which provides a variety of services to include back end web application development, COTS implementation, custom software support, basic server support and coding changes and enhancements to existing systems. This will be done within a full life cycle environment.
Good troubleshooting skills, assisting with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex and diverse software based upon documented requirements.
You will be Involved in the testing process and utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
You may be asked to provide input related to the software components of system design to include: hardware/software trade-offs software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) / Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis.
You will work within and part of a multi-faceted team that analyzes user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
Tasks can include the design and coding of new software or modify existing software to add new features. Debug existing software and corrects defects.
Perform integration of existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
Develop data queries for existing or proposed databases.
Modify existing software to enhance or fix the system design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries. Perform basic system documentation.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline and seven (7) or more years’ experience in software development is required.
No Degree? An additional four (4) years of software experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Computer Network Operation:
Understanding of firewalls, IPSEC, PKI, VPNs
Experience with any Web Servers, to include Apache, IAS, IIS, JBoss,Tomcat, Web Logic, SUNB2B
Experience with the following Operating Systems:
AIX, IBM Mainframe, Linux, Solaris, Windows and Virtual Machines
Scripting, Programming, and Object Oriented Programming.
